Sir,

I have to acknowledge the receipt of your letter No. 7211 of 5th Inst., and in reply to the second and third paragraphs of the despatch from the Governor of Hong Kong I have to say

1. That the only qualifications in dentistry granted outside the United Kingdom which are at present recognised by this Council are those granted by the Dental Board of Victoria, subject to the special conditions laid down by this Council and certified on the form provided;

2. That there is no mention of dentistry in the Order in Council dated 11th December 1905, which extends Part II of the Medical Act 1886 to Japan, and that it relates only to that Empire.

The copy of the Ordinance is returned herewith.
